The Rose Parade
The Rose Parade. Tournament of Roses

The 127 Rose Parade kicks off the year of 2016, and it is a long tradition that many will want to watch.  For those that want to watch the Rose Parade, here are instructions on the TV Schedule and how to watch online as well as live streaming the event.  For those that want to watch the Rose Parade, here is the Parade Float Lineup along with how to find the best viewing spot.

According to the official Tournament of Roses website, the 5 1/2 mile, Rose Parade route begins at the corner of Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard in Pasadena.  The parade then travels north on Orange Grove at a very slow 2.5 mile-per-hour pace and then turns east onto Colorado Boulevard, and this is where much of the parade viewing takes place.  As it gets close to the end of the route, the parade turns north onto Sierra Madre Boulevard to conclude at Villa Steet.

The theme of the parade is "Find Your Adventure",  and it is a partnership between the Pasadena Tournament of Roses and the U.S. National Park Service.  The floats will show the beauty of nature in far off lands or one's own backyard.  A full list of the Participants can be found here, as well as the 2016 Marching bands and numerous equestrian units as well.  The Latin Times states that the Grand Marshal of the Rose Parade 2016 will be Ken Burns, an award-winning filmmaker who has produced and directed many documentaries about the history of the United States.

If you want to see the parade for yourself, LA Tourist has some tips, like the Parade, can be best viewed from the southern side of Colorado Blvd.  For those that want to be in the front row along Colorado Blvd., they need to arrive in the late afternoon or early evening the night before.  By midnight, most of that front row will be occupied.  On the morning of the parade, it is possible to find a position in the front row along Sierra Madre Blvd.  Parking is better at the MTA Gold Line parking lots, and then ride the train to the parade viewing area.  Searching for a parking space near the parade is quite difficult.

The event is going to be under security after the events in the San Bernardino shooting.  Yahoo News reports that more than two dozen federal agencies are joining forces with the police to bring a huge level of security to the Rose Parade.

The 127th Rose Parade will be happening Friday, January 1, 2016, at 8:00 AM PT and 11 AM ET.  It will be broadcast on ABC, HGTV, NBC, Univision, and the Hallmark Channel.  You should be able to live stream the event on any one of those network's websites during the broadcast time.
