Samsung is reportedly developing a less powerful variant of Galaxy Note 6. Rumors hint this lower-end model will be released with Galaxy Note 6 Lite moniker. Here's the latest roundup of update about Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date, specs and rumors on the web.

According to a Weibo thread, an unnamed lite version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 has a watered down screen and less powerful processor.

The screen display of the rumored Galaxy Note 6 Lite is 5.8 inches with a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. For the regular edition of Galaxy Note 6, it will be available with a 5.8-inch screen and a higher Quad HD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.

As for the processing power of the Lite version, it will be fueled with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset along with 4 GB of RAM. On the other hand, the top-spec model is rumored to run with powerful Snapdragon 823 SoC that can deliver clocking speeds of up to 3.0 GHz, as per reports from IB Times.

Most of the latest handsets from HTC, Sony and LG use the Snapdragon 820 SoC from Qualcomm. Markey analysts say the Galaxy Note 6 Lite can stand toe-to-toe against other devices in the market with this heavy-duty processor.

We have mentioned earlier that the Galaxy Note 6 Lite will carry 4 GB of RAM. However, the high-end variant has 6 GB of RAM. Also, the regular Galaxy Note 6 has a dual-edge curved display and IP68 certified glass panel chassis.  Both devices will be available with Android Marshmallow right out of the box.

As for the release date of Galaxy Note 6 models, Ewan Spence of Forbes thinks Samsung could announce the next-generation Note very soon. The writer predicts Samsung will reveal the device this summer, and then put it on sale around August or September. Sales charts show Samsung had good numbers in the first quarter of 2016, and the company could give discounts for the upcoming Note 6 in the Christmas season.

As of now, Samsung has not yet revealed the price range of the Galaxy Note 6 models. The Week estimated the device could cost around $1000. Samsung dropped the launch price of its Galaxy S7 in comparison to the S6, so the phone maker could also offer Galaxy Note 6 with a slight discount.
