Fans of video games from the early nineties will most certainly remember when Street Fighter II became a smash sensation fighting game on both consoles and stand-up arcades. There are reports that this year's PlayStation Experience, more news updates will be revealed about the release date of Street Fighter V as Capcom will be hosting is Street Fighter tournament there. In the meantime, there have been recent updates about the fighting roster/cast, with two characters recently announced.
Since the Street Fighter 5 game won't be released until next year, very little is known about the cast or fighting roster. IGN reports that Capcom has revealed a new Middle Eastern Fighter known as Rashid. Rashid has the ability to throw a short range tornado that can extend vertically, and befitting him a moniker of "Rashid of the Turbulent Wind".
Rashid was officially unveiled at the Games 15 video game show in Dubai by Yoshinori Ono, the producer of Street Fighter. Ono teased a new character being revealed on Twitter before the official announcement.
The character of Rashid is the second new character to be unveiled for Street Fighter V. The first was R. Mika, who was unveiled at the very recent PAX Prime in Seattle, Washington. R. Mika is a returning character who first appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 3.
As for more characters being revealed, Gamespot recently had a video with the series producer Yoshinori Ono talking about several new features associated with Street Fighter V. One of them is new characters like Birdie and Cammy, introduced to audiences at E3 2015. According to Latino Post, Capcom has confirmed the return of Ken to the game, with a new hairdo.
There will be more unveiled about Street Fighter V this December. According to Game Rant, it looks like Sony is "trading in the desert for the beach", as they company revealed today that the PlayStation Experience public gaming event will be back this year, but it will be in San Francisco and not Las Vegas. Specifically, it will be at the Moscone Convention Center for the weekend of December 5-6.
Capcom confirmed an exclusivity deal with Sony, and they will be at the event running the final stop on the Capcom Pro Tour, where 32 of the world's top players are competing for the Street Fighter tournament. Competitors of the Pro Tour are still playing Street Fighter IV, but Capcom plans to unveil more information about Street Fighter V as the tour commences. Considering that at last year's PlayStation Experience, Street Fighter V was officially unveiled; you can expect Capcom to be releasing more information about the popular fighting game.
The game will be using the Unreal gaming engine for some superior graphics quality. There will also be a new system of fighting known as V-Style, which is apparently going to really revolutionize this fighting game. Perhaps its success will be seen by its number of imitators. Another change will be the online system, and PS4 and PC players will be able to play against each other.
The game is running a beta test for PS4 users that started last month, and had some problems, but has got back online once again. The official release date of Street Fighter V will be sometime in March 2016, and it will bring back the glory of the nineties gaming back like Mortal Kombat X did this year. The game will not have an initial release on the Xbox One due to the Sony exclusivity deal.
