If you are the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game, then you have been having a good year.  Not only did you take the first place as Game of the Year at the Game Awards, but you have a brand new DLC (downloadable content) coming out known as Blood and Wine.  This is what we know about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Blood and Wine DLC Release Date, Screenshots, and Price.

CNET reports some new images from the upcoming DLC, and it will have both new gear and enemies, as well as characters who are "both new and dearly missed", says CD Projekt Red, award-winning developers of the popular open world fantasy game.  These new images have appeared on Twitter, and they really show off the colorfulness and vastness of the world.  CD Projekt Red says that the expansion packs are "crafted with maximum attention to detail and quality".

The images are showing the all-new region of Toussaint, where the action of the Blood and Wine DLC will take place.  What will happen in Toussaint?  Apparently, the DLC will "take Geralt (main character of the game) to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret."

It seems odd from the screenshots, one of them can be seen in the image, that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would go into such a colorful realm.  The game is known for being pretty dark in many places as the main character hunts down very horrific supernatural monsters.  It is possible that this land of Toussaint just looks good on the outside, and it will be up to Geralt to find out its dark, ugly secret.

The Blood and Wine DLC is planned to offer about 20 hours of gameplay, which is twice that of the Hearts of Stone DLC.  As we reported on before, there was a problem with the release date of the DLC, but it was soon resolved.

There is a report from PlayStation Lifestyle saying that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Blood and Wine DLC will have changes implemented due to player feedback.  This gives the player the chance to shape how the game will be played, which is something that is smart on the part of CD Projekt Red to begin.  Anyone that is into gaming knows that fan reactions and make or break a game, and it would be a sad story if the Game of the Year suddenly became a dud because players didn't like the new DLC.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Blood and Wine DLC will arrive in the first half of 2016, somewhere in between January and June, with no specific release date.  It is possible to purchase the expansion as part of The Witcher 3 Expansion Pass, which costs $24.99.  As for the price of the Blood and Wine DLC, it hasn't been listed as yet.
