The world of wrestling entertainment is a really diverse one -- there are simply way too many wrestlers to mention, and some have already moved on in this life after the trappings of fame and fortune led them into a downward spiral. Thankfully, for those of us who are young enough to have seen them perform and strut their stuff in the ring, we are now able to revisit those moments thanks to games like WWE 2K17. What makes WWE 2K17 special is not the fact that it is a standalone title upon purchase with no more opportunities or chance to enhance its offerings, but there will be downloadable content (DLCs) from time to time that expands the playability and longevity of the title. The latest Legends DLC update for WWE 2K17 will see an expansion in the wrestler roster, where Eddie Guerrero is one of them.
With WWE 2K17 having rolled out for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles in October earlier this year, the roster is not set in stone, but continues to grow. In fact, the latest Legends Pack DLC will see the inclusion of five new characters from the history of entertainment wrestling: where they will include the likes of Eddie "Latino Heat" Guerrero, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Sycho Sid and Tatanka, all for $8.99 a pop. All right, it is not as though you are unable to get the full blown digital wrestling experience with the vanilla WWE 2K17 title, but having more characters to play around with is certainly something that spices things up, doesn’t it?
In fact, the Legends Pack comes across as the third wave of character DLC, right after the 'NXT Enhancement Pack' that sells for $9.99 alongside the $4.99 Goldberg Pack. Those two packs mentioned were introduced with the game’s launch, and in there, you will find the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Nia Jax, Apollo Crews and Goldberg. The number of DLCs do not look set to stop here though, as there will be more characters introduced to the mix in the Future Stars Pack that will see the inclusion of Austin Aries, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Mojo Rawley and Tye Dillinger some time down the road.
Check out how Eddie "Latino Heat" Guerrero, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Sycho Sid and Tatanka will look like in their latest digital iteration, in addition to a snippet of their ringside antics and entrances in the official YouTube video below.
Just how many more DLCs do you think that gamers will be able to stomach before they decide that they would very much prefer purchasing a game outright for just one time, and not having to top up the title with more DLCs and downloads along the way? It might be a whole lot more economical to pick up the Season Pass in the first place for a lump sum if you know that you are unable to withstand the temptation of newer packs arriving in the future.
