The science fiction classic "X-Files" returns on TV. Fox Television presents the brand-new paranormal investigations of FBI special agents Dana Scully (Gilian Anderson) and Fox Mulder (David Duchovny). Now, here is a preview for the episode 3 of The X-Files season 10 titled "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster".
For the episode 3 of Season 10, Scully and Mulder are set to investigate a mysterious dead body found in the woods. The agents are tasked to know its cause of death, whether it was an animal attack, a case of serial killer, or a "strange creature" invasion.
As any long-time X-files fan knows, this synopsis is just a mere guideline about what is set to happen on the next episode. What is more interesting is how the story moves after the attack in the woods, and knowing the nature of the show, expect some weird and dramatic turn of events.
Furthermore, fans may find "a little bit of humor" in the next episode as it will feature two comedians as a guest star. Kumail Nanjiani of Silicon Valley and Flight of the Conchords actor Rhys Darby are set to make an appearance in the X-Files Season 10 third episode.
"Viewers will be surprised. I was surprised. It's a wonderful twist on the old classic were-monster," Darby told Entertainment Weekly, referring to his character, Guy Mann, who is allegedly involved in the "attack in the woods" case.
"Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster" episode is written and directed by Darin Morgan. According to Vanity Fair, the third episode has high energy and the jokes are flying fast. It is a great reminder for audiences that The X-Files can also be fun when it doesn't take itself too seriously.
One of the best gags in the show has to do with Mulder's inability to use his mobile phone to capture the suspected supernatural shenanigans. That joke is a nice comment about the fact that The X-Files can't really exist in the digital age the same way it did 23 years ago when cell phones are only intended for calls.
In its return, The X-Files Season 10 debuted strongly with 13.5 million total viewers, according to national Nielsen statistics. The Wrap published the show also hit the internet by storm. It got 276,000 tweets from 96,000 people in the United States.
The X-Files airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. Check this website to watch the episode via live stream.
