We are now in the middle of March, which means Xbox Live Gold subscribers will receive a bunch of free games again. It only costs $40 to become a Gold member, but the games and freebies you'll receive are much more than that. Now, here are our game predictions for April and the list of free games this month.
There is no official announcement from Microsoft about the free games for April, but speculations have already surfaced. Based on the latest tweet from Xbox, it seems that gamers can expect something big next month. The official Twitter account of Xbox posted, "Next: up April blockbusters."
After reading the teaser, some gamers also posted their game requests for next month. Will Xbox grant those requests? We'll find out on April.
It is also interesting to note that the Xbox Gold program previously offered blockbuster games like Forza Motorsport 6, Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of The Tomb Raider.
While waiting for the next batch of free games, here's the new slate of free Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. Xbox One users received two free games, while Xbox 360 owners got one.
Xbox One
Lord of the Fallen is available from March 16 to April 15. Developed by CI Games, this action role-playing video game features action-packed gameplay that is centered on combos and spells. It also gives players a much more accessible Dark Souls-style gaming experience.
2. Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments has been free since March 1 and will be playable until March 30. The game has visually stunning graphics and exciting gameplay. The in-game cases are thoroughly enjoyable, and it encourages players to think hard. The game costs $30 in the market but Xbox Live Gold member can get it for free.
Xbox 360
1. Borderlands
Xbox One owners can also play Borderlands through backwards compatibility. The RPG game, which is free until March 31, features wide variety of missions, environments, enemies, weapons, item drops and character customization. It also offers thrilling online co-op gameplay. Borderlands is probably the most interesting title this month.
For more Xbox-related deals, Gold members can buy Destiny, various Assassin's Creed games, Batman: Arkham Knight, and other titles at a discounted price this week.
