Xbox One users will greatly benefit this December, because of Microsoft's new backwards compatibility update. This month, Xbox One users will receive four free games while Xbox 360 will enjoy two games.
Have an incredible adventure in the gothic-noir world with the action role-playing game "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing," which leads the pack for December. The game, which is Xbox One compatible, is the only title available for the whole month. Some games are only available for 15 days.
Gamers can enjoy the fighter game "Knight Squad" from Nov. 16 to Dec. 15, and "Thief" is available on Dec. 16, 2015, to Jan. 15, 2016.
For Xbox 360 games this month, projectile-based arcade game "CastleStorm" is available for free from Dec. 1 to Dec. 15. In addition, Gold subscribers can have classic arcade-game "Sacred 3" and military simulation game "Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising" from Dec. 16-31.
Aside from free games, Microsoft announced that the favorite games may now be streamed from Xbox One to the Microsoft HoloLens, according to an article published in PC World.
The latest feature gives players comfort while enjoying their favorite games. They can lie back on the couch-or the porch, or anywhere where there's a Wi-Fi signal-and kick back with some Xbox One games.
Varun Mani, Microsoft HoloLens program manager, demonstrated the awesome features of HoloLens. Mani streamed Halo 5 from his Xbox One console to HoloLens. In a video posted on Youtube, the shot was through the lens of the HoloLens augmented reality headset. The game is now in a 360-degree arc that lets gamers play the game in all direction.
Microsoft describes the latest feature as "mixed reality" or "hologram computing".
On the other hand, because of the new backwards compatibility feature, some fans are thinking about moving to Xbox One from Xbox 360. By doing so, they can download nearly twice as many games as they normally could.
Market analysts see this move of Microsoft as a smart strategy to encourage players to move to the current-gen console from Xbox 360, which is now 10 years old. Considering the hype that Xbox 360 got over the years, the company aims to that do that also for the Xbox One.
Earlier in November, Microsoft launched the New Xbox One Experience, which is basically an upgrade for the Xbox One - a free one at that - and brings not only a redesigned user interface but also backward compatibility.
