The ZTE Axon.
Will be announced on July 14th, 2015 at NYC. ZTE

If you are not familiar with ZTE, they are a Chinese multinational telecommunications equipment and systems company headquartered in Shenzhen, China.  It is one of the top five largest smartphone manufacturers in the world in the home market, and they are in the top ten, worldwide.  The company is ready to release another sub-brand with the Axon, following the success with the Nubia, but this success was in Asian markets.  It is interesting to see that ZTE's Axon is targeted to the United States market, and this is what we know of the Axon release date, features, and price.

According to NDTV, there will an event on July 14th in New York City to launch their new phone, the Axon.  ZTE has had a lot of success in the Asian market, and it is interesting to see that they are doing the unveiling of their phone in New York City, which is a move that most United States phone manufacturers do.  Also, it seems odd that they bring another smartphone into the United States with our already crowded smartphone market.

Still, the ZTE Axon has a lot to offer the United States and the rest of the world.  One of the unique features of the ZTE Axon is 4GB of RAM, and it is very rare that a handset has such a high amount.  In comparison, Samsung's flagship the Galaxy S6 has 3GB, which is exactly the same amount as HTC's flagship the HTC One M9.  Only the Asus ZenFone 2 has an equal amount of 4GB.

Another outstanding feature is the dual-lens camera solution along with a dual-LED flash.  The dual-lens is made to give users a quick auto-focus as well as recognize depth-of-field.  According to GSM Arena, the dual-lens arrangement is there to enable refocusing pictures after you take them, or even blurring backgrounds.  The front camera is designed to be "smile-activated" in order to "step up your selfie game".

By the way, the smartphone camera is also capable of shooting 4K resolution videos.  There is also some Hi-Fi audio playback and recording via twin microphones with what the company calls "the best in noise suppression technology".

Other features include "a large battery for all-around high performance under the hood", but it doesn't list the exact about of mAh.  There is also a "lightning fast processor", and the phone is Android, presumably Lollipop but "simplistic".

According to Android Central, not only is ZTE doing this big event in New York City to promote their phone, but they are also having a big $10,000 contest going on with the chance to win the phone itself.

The Axon phone will be available in three color versions: Phthalo Blue, Ion Gold, and Chromium Silver.  As far as the pricing is concerned, it should be $450 unlocked, but unknown if you are doing some carrier contract deal.  As far as when the release date that it will be available to consumers, expect it sometime after the big July 14th announcement.
