Android 7.0 Nougat Update Release Dates: LG G5, G4, G3, G Stylo, V10 And V20

LG V20
LG V20 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat  CNET

It is always nice to make sure that your smartphone comes with the latest operating system version, and where LG smartphones are concerned, consumers who own the LG G5, LG G4, LG G3, LG G Stylo and LG V10 are also interested as to when they can make the jump to Android 7.0 Nougat. As for the latest flagship LG V20, that particular smartphone arrives with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, so we will give that a miss at the moment.

Where Android 6.0 Marshmallow was concerned, it took LG all of just two months to obtain the Marshmallow update after Google released it on their Nexus family of devices. This makes LG second only to Google by virtue of being the first OEM to pick up a Marshmallow update which is carrier-based.

Rolling back the calendar, the LG V10 picked up the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in March this year, right after the LG G Stylo and LG G3 received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update Stateside. Hence, if historical performance were to be taken into consideration, then the first LG device to pick up Android 7.0 Nougat would be the LG G5 this coming December, with only the LG V20 beating it to the punch.

Just in case you were wondering whether your LG device is eligible for valid updates that include the latest Android 7.0 Nougat, you will need to do the following. Check on the existing Android version of your LG device by accessing Apps from the home screen. From there, head on to Settings and choose the General Tab. Scroll down to the About Phone options tab, before picking Software Information. The right information will be shown there.

If you do not see Android 7.0 Nougat listed, then this means that your LG smartphone has not yet received the latest version, which is understandable. If you are too lazy to wait for a carrier release, then you can always tap on Apps and go to Settings from the home screen. From there, head on to the General Tab, before tapping on About Phone. Select Software System Updates and then tap on Check now in order to perform a manual check. If there is new version of the Android update available, you will be prompted for downloads.

Also be aware that automatic notifications will pop up should your LG smartphone be on the receiving end of a valid Android 7.0 Nougat update. Upon receiving such a notification, all that you need to do is to tap the icon on the status bar, and the download should commence.

So far, other LG devices which have been bandied about to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update include the LG X Cam, LG X Screen, LG X Power, LG X Max, LG G4 Stylus, and LG K8. These are pretty zany handset names for sure! The rollout should kick off in a couple of months' time, to be on the safe side. Only time will tell, so be patient!
