Central Texas is grappling with devastating flooding that has claimed at least 82 lives and left more than 40 people missing. In response, the Trump Faith Office has urged Americans to unite in prayer, citing Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit,” encouraging hope amid tragedy.

According to CP, the office released a statement expressing solidarity with the affected Texans, emphasizing the community’s resilience and the power of collective prayer during this crisis. The statement read, “We stand with the courageous people of Texas and call on all Americans to pray for swift rescue and comfort for those impacted.”

The disaster struck the Hunt area and surrounding communities, where flooding triggered large-scale evacuations. Among those missing are 10 girls and one counselor from a local Christian summer camp, Camp Mystic, prompting ongoing search and rescue operations.

More than 850 residents have evacuated safely, and emergency responders continue to comb flood-ravaged areas searching for survivors and victims.

Governor Greg Abbott declared July 6 a statewide Day of Prayer, urging citizens to join in reflection and support. “During these difficult times, we pray for God’s comfort and strength to uphold the people of Texas,” Abbott stated, according to CP.

This call for prayer by the Trump Faith Office highlights the role of faith communities in offering hope and unity in times of natural disaster. As rescue teams work tirelessly, the message encourages Americans to support those suffering through spiritual solidarity.
