Justice Scalia on DOMA Rulings: Supreme Court Has Overstepped Its Boundaries
The Supreme Court overturned Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) on Wednesday of last week, much to the disappointment of Justices Antonin Scalia, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, and Chief Justice John Roberts. The DOMA was established in 1996 and defines marriage as the legal union of one man and one woman, prohibiting same-sex couples from being recognized for federal spousal laws.

In order an effort to promote traditional Chinese culture, the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, in collaboration with Macao YMCA, Guangzhou Suigang'ao Teenagers Institute, and the Teacher Chang Foundation of Taiwan, has conducted a survey on teens measuring their cultural awareness. They found that Hong Kong youths generally identify with and support the values of traditional Chinese culture.

Yesterday, October 31, was Reformation Day, and Lutherans around the world held various events in commemoration.
