Detroit Files for Bankruptcy on Thursday; Court Rules Unconstitutional
Known as the Motor City because of its history in automotive manufacturing, the Michigan city of Detroit filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 9 of the Bankruptcy Code on Thursday. Detroit was named the second most dangerous city in the United States in 2013 based on Federal Bureau of Investigation data, and it has a poverty rate of over 40%.

George Zimmerman was found not-guilty of all charges related to killing Trayvon Martin in February of 2012. Zimmerman, who has no known history of hatred toward African Americans, was told by 9-1-1 responders not to pursue Martin while on watch in a Florida neighborhood; however, Zimmerman proceeded to fight with and to eventually shoot the unarmed young man.

Governor Rick Perry signed House Bill 2 into law today, which bans post-20-week abortions and raises the standards of health care for abortion clinics in Texas. The bill was protested heavily by unruly pro-abortionists at the state capitol.

Ray Comfort recently released “Evolution vs. God: Shaking the Foundations of Faith,” a movie that he says boils evolution down to misguided trust. The movie was originally entitled “Famous Atheists,” but after interviewing evolutionary scientists from the University of Southern California and the University of California Los Angeles, Comfort realized that their answers to his questions revealed a lack of evidence for evolution and decided to change direction with the film.

Survey: Hong Kong teens generally identify with traditional Chinese cultural values
In order an effort to promote traditional Chinese culture, the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, in collaboration with Macao YMCA, Guangzhou Suigang'ao Teenagers Institute, and the Teacher Chang Foundation of Taiwan, has conducted a survey on teens measuring their cultural awareness. They found that Hong Kong youths generally identify with and support the values of traditional Chinese culture.
