13 Christian Choirs, Bands in Hong Kong Hold Concert to Fund-Raise for Haiti

Hosanna Chanters and Music Call, ten teams of Christian choirs and bands from all of the eight universities in Hong Kong together held a concert to fundraise for Haiti disaster-relief efforts.

On the night of February 1, over 380 people performed, and 400 more attended the concert. The crowds sang hymns and read scriptures to commemorate the Haiti disaster victims and prayed for the disaster-relief workers.

The total funds that was raised that night exceeded $80,000 HKD, which will all be donated to World Vision Hong Kong to help the Haiti disaster victims.

The concert was organized by Hosanna Chanters and co-organized by Music Call. The performers included professionals in the work place and students from all the major universities in Hong Kong.

The hosting committee expressed that it is truly a blessing from the Lord to successfully have the concert with only two weeks of preparation and the avid response from each team and the audiences.

That night’s performance included Hosanna Chanters, Music Call, Resonance Chanters, Hong Kong Baptist University Christian Choir, Hong Kong Baptist University Chaplain’s Office Christian Band, Hong Kong Lingnan University Christian Choir, Hong Kong Institute of Education Christian Choir, HKUSU Christian Choir, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Christian Choir, Christ Touching U Christian Choir, Praise U Christian Choir, etc.
