New rumors indicate that the Boston Celtics are moving to acquire two athletes that are actively in the 2016 NBA Finals series. According to various sources, Danny Ainge, the president of basketball operations for the Celtics, has reportedly met with the agent of Cleveland Cavaliers' Kevin Love and Golden State Warriors' Harrison Barnes.

As reported by Real GM, Ainge traveled to New York City earlier this week to meet with Jeff Schwartz, the president and founder of Excel Sports Management. Aside from Love and Barnes, he also represents other key athletes such as Lamar Odom, Jason Kidd, Kemba Walker, Paul Pierce and Tyson Chandler.

The exact details of the meeting between these two sports figures are still unknown but one can easily assume that Ainge is very interested in acquiring some of Schwartz's clients, namely Love and Barnes.

Both of these athletes are expected to become free agents this July, which is probably why Ainge is reportedly trying to shop them for the Celtics' roster.

If this does push through, then the Boston franchise will probably be able to fish out a good deal with Love given the fact that he's not getting that much attention even though he's in the finals with the rest of the Cavaliers.

Also, throughout the series, fans can see how Love is turning into a non-valuable player for Cleveland. For instance, as pointed out by NESN, Love played a total of 33 minutes during Game 5. But, despite being in the game for such a long time, he only managed to score two points.

On the other hand, when he was on concussion protocol earlier this month, he was forced to sit out Game 3. At that match, the Cavs were able to secure their first win in the series with a 30-point deficit over the Warriors.

With a potential trade talks underway, Ainge could be trying to get Love and Barnes in preparation for the upcoming draft. With a total of eight picks, the Celtics could be looking to give away some of thise in exchange for certain players. That way, the team will be able to fill its roster with veteran athletes instead of a bulk of rookies.
