Jeremy Lin, who will become a free agent next month, has admitted that he's open to the idea of returning to the New York Knicks. However, he also knows that this may not happen next season since the Knicks just recently acquired a new point guard.

Lin, who is currently with the Charlotte Hornets, officially entered the NBA in 2011 after signing a two-year deal with the Golden State Warriors. After leaving the team, he then played for the Knicks for two seasons.

Throughout his career, Lin has been bouncing off from one team to the next. And now that he's about to become a free agent, this might happen again. This time though, he wants to be with a team where he can play for a long time.

"I've played six years in the NBA; I've played on five different teams," he said in an interview while in China for the World Economic Forum according to ESPN. "I'm tired of boxes, I'm tired of moving companies, and I want to find a home."

This is why he would like to take advantage of the upcoming free agency market to possibly look for a new team. Although it is not yet clear where he will end up, he noted that he wants to stay with the Knicks. The problem here however, is that the New York team just acquired Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls.

Still, Lin is still very positive that he will one day return to the Knicks.

"It's not looking likely, because they just traded for Derrick Rose," he said according to AOL. "But I will say, ever since I left I've been open to going back, and I still am. Never say never. That's the one thing in the NBA. Never say never. So I've always been open, but right now, I'm not sure it's the best timing."

Lin's statements clearly suggest that he might not re-sign with the Hornets next season. Although the Charlotte team is still worried about losing him through the free agency market, he is not the team's top priority.

As noted by various sources, the Hornets are currently focused on re-signing Nicolas Batum, who is also expected to enter free agency next week.
