The Cleveland Browns is interested in signing Connor Cook, the quarterback from the Michigan State Spartans, according to rumors. However, it seems the Browns is not the only team eyeing the quarterback since as noted by Cook, other franchises are interested in him as well.

The report about Cleveland possibly making a move to acquire Cook was made by ESPN. According to the sports news site, unlike the other teams in the league, the Browns is not that determined in bagging this year's highly sought after quarterbacks Carson Wentz or Jared Goff.

This is probably the reason why the Browns had no problems with trading down to the No. 8 spot in the draft picks. It could be a strategy employed by the Browns to go after another quarterback, who, despite being as high profile as Wentz or Goff, still has the necessary skills to lead a team on the field.

But, the main problem here is that the No. 8 spot could still be too high for Cook. So, if Browns really wants to get the young athlete, it could consider trading down once again in the first round. Another option would be to get Cook during the first pick of the draft's second round.

Of course, given Cook's skillset, the Browns is not the only one interested in signing him.

"As of right now, I think the [San Francisco 49ers] like me," he said according to CBS Sports. "I've heard the Denver Broncos like me and the Dallas Cowboys."

Out of these three teams, the 49ers and Cowboys have the upper hand over the Browns regarding the selection order. And, depending on the availability of Wentz or Goff, both teams could go for Cook since these two have their own needs when it comes to the quarterback position.

As for Cook, he doesn't have an idea yet which round of the draft he will get picked.

"Going in the first round, that's great, that would be a huge blessing and I think I deserve to get my name called," he told sportscaster Dan Patrick. "If I don't get my name called, I'm not going to get that upset because I'm thinking I'm going in the second round."
