It seems the Seattle Seahawks has not yet ironed out all the wrinkles in its relationship with strong safety Kam Chancellor. New rumors suggest that the there's a chance that the athlete would decide to leave the Seahawks.

Rumors about Chancellor's departure began after he shared a post on his Instagram account.

"Seattle is my second home," he stated. "I don't plan on going anywhere unless some higher power places me elsewhere."

Although the message was meant to assure Seahawks fans that he's not planning on leaving Seattle, the term "higher power" is a direct reference to factors that are out of his control. This means he could leave the team if the higher-ups of the team decide to trade him or if another franchise offers him a generous deal.

This, of course, goes against what general manager John Schneider said in March regarding the status of chancellor on the team. According to him, there's no doubt that he will still be on the team's roster.

"Kam is an extremely prideful, spiritual person," he said according to Sheil Kapadia of ESPN. "There's a lot of family things that stay in house. That's one of them. I can't speak more highly of a guy. It was a tough, tough thing for everybody to go through last year, so I'm glad he feels that way."

"Yeah, he's a Seahawk, Schneider added. "Yeah, absolutely."

The rough patch between Chancellor and the Seahawks emerged on 2015 after the former refused to attend the team's training camp and intentionally missed the first two games of the season. According to Seattle Times, Chancellor did this to pressure the team into either offering him a new contract or improving his existing with a higher offer.

However, the negotiations for the deal never materialized and eventually, Chancellor returned to the team during the third week of the season. Despite not getting what he wanted, Chancellor still played like a professional upon his return and even managed to improve the ranking of the team.

But, since he was not able to get a new contract last year, various sources are speculating that he might pull off the same tactics he used in 2015 to persuade the Seahawks to increase his salary.
