2016 NFL Trade Rumors & Updates: Did Seattle Seahawks Just Reacquire Brandon Browner?

New reports coming in from Seattle have confirmed that the Seahawks has re-signed cornerback Brandon Browner. Aside from the athlete, the team was also able to acquire four new players for its roster.

Rumors about Browner rejoining the Seattle franchise emerged earlier this week after he posted a photo of himself wearing Seahawks uniform. Of course, the photo, which was posted on his Instagram account, came from the time when he was with the Seahawks in 2011.

"I've been excited about this one, been trying to keep it to myself," he posted. "Secrets out, I'm grateful and can't wait to get back to work."

Based on the photo, it's probably safe to say that Browner has been in negotiations with the Seahawks regarding his new contract. And, as confirmed by Seattle Times, Browner signed a contract with the team on Monday. His reinstatement certainly means that he will be reunited with head coach Pete Carroll.

Hopefully though, this will serve as a second chance for Browner to clean up his career. When he first joined the Seahawks, he incurred a suspension in 2012 and was forced to miss out on four games for violating the NFL's policy regarding the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

He was suspended again in 2014 before being released by the Seahawks. During that time, he played for the New England Patriots before joining the New Orleans Saints in the following year.

For this year though, the Seahawks offered Browner a one-year contract worth $1.75 million, which could be the team's way of playing safe with Browner given his history with the team. In other words, it seems the Seahawks decided to withhold a big offer to Browner this year to avoid suffering a big loss just in case he gets suspended again or leaves the team.

But, his current status with the Seahawks also means the original Legend of Boom is back again, which consists of secondary safeties and cornerbacks Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman and Browner.

Aside from Browner, the Seahawks also signed Patrick Lewis, Steven Terrell, Mohammed Seisay and Cooper Helfet this week.
