The Android 7.0 Nougat update roster continues to expand further, as we have received word on how T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ will be picking up the Android 7.0 Nougat update some time later next week. In fact, it was this week that we read about how the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 from T-Mobile had already begun to pick up the Android 7.0 Nougat update (one month after the European release), so it is no surprise to see the baton being passed over to the Galaxy S6 edge+ next week.
According to Des, a T-Mobile product manager, the Galaxy S6 edge+’s Android 7.0 Nougat update has already picked up the nod of approval by the software engineering team at T-Mobile, which means it is good to go some time next week. As to the exact date in the first week of May, that remains to be seen. However, chances are it might appear early in the week, so those of you who are still rocking to the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ on T-Mobile might want to make sure that you have enough storage space to download the update when it is available.
It is also a good reminder to perform a backup of your important data prior to going ahead with the Android 7.0 Nougat update, as one can never quite tell just how things might go awry at times. It will be an Over The Air (OTA) update, so do expect it to appear in due time if everyone else around you have already started to receive some Nougat goodness on their respective Galaxy S6 edge+’s. After all, good things come to those who wait, and just in case patience is not your utmost virtue, there is always the manual method of getting things done -- by heading to Settings > About Phone and to search for an update there.
