Android 7.0 Nougat has been around for slightly more than half a year already, and we are seeing how more and more smartphones that run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow are receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Of course, those who jive with Google-branded handsets will always be on the receiving end of the latest version of Android before the rest, but this is also limited to the newer devices only since older Google-branded devices will see support for it phased out eventually like any other operating system worth its salt. Motorola has built a rather impressive reputation for itself when it comes to introducing the Android 7.0 Nougat update for its stable of smartphones, first with its higher end and flagship devices, and now shifting its attention to more of its mid-range devices.
With this, we are pleased to bring you word that the Android 7.0 Nougat update has started to be pushed out to the unlocked Moto Z Play handset in the US, as well as Brazil and India. All three of these markets have huge populations, and hence, it makes perfect sense to keep customers in these three countries happy. Those living in India who have picked up the update would be able to know since it carries the version NPN25.137-15-2. As for folks living in Brazil, there has been no exact version for the update in that part of the world just yet, although either way, the Android 7.0 Nougat update will be taking the Over The Air (OTA) route.
It makes perfect sense that the initial Android 7.0 Nougat update rollout will be limited at first, so do not fret if you have not yet received it until now. It will certainly take some time before your Moto Z Play is rocking to Android 7.0 Nougat, so do be patient. After all, if you have already waited all this while, it does not hurt at all to wait a little bit longer. We are also not going to rule out the possibility that Motorola might just expand the Android 7.0 Nougat update’s availability to other regions in the days to come, and certainly before the month is over.
There would not be too many changes between the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Moto Z Play and the Moto Z and Moto Z Force, save for the inclusion of Google Daydream support. Other features that will certainly be Android 7.0 Nougat signatures include quick switch between apps, a multi-window view for easier multitasking, a new work mode toggle for Android for Work users, Data Saver, Doze on the Go, Just-in-time compiler, direct reply from notifications, bundled notifications, additional control over notifications, custom quick settings, a quick settings bar, better settings navigation, the inclusion of lock screen wallpaper, a far better system backup, and more emoji to communicate with, among others. Are you looking forward to your Moto Z Play picking up the Android 7.0 Nougat update? You can also perform a manual check by going to Settings > About > System updates.
