Latest on Google Marshmallow roll out

Many smartphones from HTC, Sony and LG already got their Android Marshmallow update, but some devices from other phone makers are still waiting for the Over-the-Air (OTA) notification.  Now, we'll you give the latest update about Android Marshmallow (Android M) release date for Samsung Galaxy A7, A9, Note Edge, and BlackBerry Priv under Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile.

Sam Mobile reported Samsung Galaxy A9 is the first Galaxy A smartphone that received Android Marshmallow. In fact, the 6-inch smartphone has received two Android 6.0.1 updates in a period of almost two weeks. The latest version has build number A9000ZCU1BPE2.

For other Galaxy A devices, it is reported the Galaxy A5 (2016), and Galaxy A7 (2016) will get Android M firmware in the next couple of weeks. Take note that Samsung tests the firmware before releasing it to their devices so that the rollout might take some time.

The factory unlocked Galaxy Note Edge variants in Europe are also getting their Android M firmware. The update comes with a build number N915FYXXU1DPE1. Users should also allot 1.5GB for the installation of the firmware. Furthermore, the update brings in the May Security Maintenance Release (SMR).

Galaxy Note Edge users should wait for the OTA update notification before installing the Android M. However, the notification may take a few days as the update is usually sent out in phases. Users can also check their device if it is already available for update. Just go to Settings -> About Device -> Software Update.

As we previously reported, BlackBerry Priv users can now experience the cool features of Android M. Interestingly, the device received another round of Marshmallow beta update, making it the fourth beta build. This fourth update reportedly weighs 1.8GB.

As of now, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is being rolled out to three Blackberry Priv variants: STV100-3 (Canadian or Asia-Pacific variants), STV100-1 (available in BlackBerry's official store or Amazon), and STV100-4 (available in Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Android Marshmallow is the latest operating system from Google. It features Doze mode, improved apps permissions settings and Now on Tap.

After Google announced the Android N at I/O conference, many users are curious about its features. Latest reports say the firmware will offer improved Doze mode and VR headset compatibility.  Considering the Android's update schedule, gadget lovers probably have to wait at least another year to get the Android N.
