Now that Google has had their big announcement of the official rollout of Android 6.0, it should be seen on its Nexus devices very soon, if it isn't there already.  However, as most Android users know, the rollout can be slow when it comes to an entirely new version of Android, so what is the word on the Android 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow) Release Date for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge +, S5, S5 neo, Note 4, and Note 5 for major US Carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon.

According to iDigitalTimes, there was a recent leak from tech blog SamMobile which brings details on which devices from Samsung will be receiving the Marshmallow update.  The list is quite extensive as it includes individual model numbers and carriers, and it does include the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge +, S5, S5 neo, Note 4, and Note 5.  It also includes other devices like the Galaxy S6 Duos, Galaxy Note 4 Duos, Galaxy Tab A, and Galaxy Alpha.

So far, T-Mobile has been very vocal about getting Marshmallow to its subscribers, according to the Latin Post.  In discussing the Marshmallow release (as well as HTC, LG, and Nexus devices), T-Mobile says that the devices are in the first step of "Manufacturer Development", which means that they will be released soon.

So it really is a question of how soon Marshmallow will be coming to Samsung devices.  Many reports will say that Marshmallow will rollout to Android devices by the very end of the year or the very beginning of the next.  This is the pattern last year when Android 5.0 (also known as Android L or Lollipop) worked its way to Samsung's flagship phone, which was the S5 at the time.  Most Samsung S5 users didn't get their update until early 2015, depending on their carrier.  Assuming that Android 6.0 follows the same pattern, one should expect the S6 series as well as the Note 5 to be receiving Android M by Q1 2016.

The prediction is that when 6.0 finally rolls out as an OTA for Samsung, the first to get it will be the current flagship of the S6.  Granted, this is not the newest Android device from Samsung, as the Note 5 and the S6 + were recently unveiled.  Generally, it is the newer Android products that receive the update first.

Gotta Be Mobile reports that Samsung rollouts often take months, and the company hasn't really made any formal announcements on the when they will even start.  Samsung users of older Android devices should also check to see if Android 5.1.1, the version just below 6.0, is available.
