Now that Google has had Android M (also known as Version 6.0 or Marshmallow) out for two months now, this has left a lot of Android users wondering when it will come to their device.  As is tradition, it came out for Google's own Nexus series first, and it is now slowly rolling out to other companies, like LG.  This is what is known about the Android M Version 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date LG G4 and G3 for Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile.

According to Phone Arena, it would appear that LG is getting ready to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the LG G3.  The company has posted the source code for the LG G3 Android 6.0 on its developer website.  It has also published the source code for the Marshmallow update that will soon roll out to the LG D855.  This is the international version of the LG G3, which could be the first variant to be updated to the new Android version.

It is unusual to hear that the LG G3 could be getting an upgrade to the newest version of Android.  After all, the LG G4 is still the flagship phone, and it was thought that this model of smartphone would be one of the first devices receiving the Marshmallow upgrade.  LG started a slow rollout in Europe, and countries like Poland, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Croatia, and Turkey have been receiving it, according to Tech Radar

With that being the case, one would think that it wouldn't take too long before the Android 6.0 upgrade comes to the United States.  Other phones could be receiving the upgrade along with the G4 and the G3 such as the G Flex 2, G4c, and others, but probably not the G2.

There is a rumor that there could be an LG G4 Pro that could launch with Android Marshmallow, depending on when it will arrive.  This has yet to be confirmed, but perhaps something like this could be announced at CES, maybe?

If you are a G3 user, and you want Android 6.0 now, it is possible, but it is also technical.  It involves using the CyanogenMod, as it has just been revealed that CyanogenMod 13 (CM13 nightly) is running Android 6.0 and available for download to many smartphones that include the LG G3, according to the VC Post

As stated before, installing the custom ROM is a highly technical process, and it can only be installed on d85x, Is990, and vs985 versions of the LG G3 only.  Any other attempt on other devices could result in what is known as getting "bricked."  In other words, you should proceed with caution if you are going to go this route, but if you do, detailed instructions are available at the International Business Times
