Bandai Namco, the publisher of Dark Souls, teamed up with Harebrained Schemes to bring Necropolis in PS4 and Xbox One gaming consoles. The upcoming dungeon-diving game is set to become available on March 17. Now here's the latest update about Necropolis release date and features.

The much-anticipated game from Seattle-based Harebrained Schemes is now due to hit on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in summer, with Bandai managing the console publishing duties. According to Jordan Weisman, head of Harebrained Schemes, his company will handle the PC version of the game.

Necropolis is third-person action game that has challenging gameplay that will definitely love by hardcore gamers. If players die in the game once, they have to start again all over again. Its environment is filled with ghastly beasties in ever-changing, procedurally generated dungeons. The title also offers online co-op mode for up to four players.

Harebrained Schemes showcased the game last year at Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) East, where it caught the attention of Bandai Namco. Eric Hartness, vice president for marketing at Bandai Namco Entertainment America, said the he was impressed when saw the Necropolis at PAX East event. He added the game has perfect blend of skill-based 3D action gameplay and unique visual, "making it a good companion game for Dark Souls fans."

According to VentureBeat, it is unusual that Harebrained Schemes wants to independently manage the PC version on its own, while Bandai Namco handles the PS4 and Xbox One distribution.

It is also worth noting that Necropolis is Harebrained Schemes' biggest investment to date, and the company developed the title without the help of a crowdfunding campaign.

The same source from VentureBeat said Harebrained Schemes has a total of 23 people in the team. Executive producer Chris Kohnert and graphic designer Dennis Detwiler came up with the idea of making a procedurally generated environment. With this awesome technology, the game is definitely packed with lots of possibilities.

In Necropolis, gamers play as a nameless adventurer attempting to escape a living, magical dungeon that reconstructs itself each time, with only one way out - down. The game is better in co-op mode, as players can resurrect their teammate if they die.

We'll give you more details once the game becomes available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this summer. Stay tuned with Gospel Herald for more updates.
