The DTEK50 will not challenge the hierarchy in the flagship smartphone range, but rather, dwell in the mid-range with a design that is reminiscent of the Alcatel Idol 4. BlackBerry is proud to claim that the DTEK50 is the "world's most secure smartphone", which is certainly a claim that raises eyebrows although it is well within BlackBerry's capabilities to lay stake to such boasts.

The DTEK50 from BlackBerry is already available for pre-order directly from today for $299.99 a pop, and August 8th has been targeted for its availability. Expect the DTEK50 to play nice with both AT&T and T-Mobile networks over in the US. This means Sprint and Verizon subscribers will have to give the DTEK50 a miss this time around.
Hardware Specifications
Just what kind of hardware will the DTEK50 pack? Oh yes, do take note that there will be no physical keyboard with the DTEK50, so BlackBerry purists might be disappointed with this particular aspect.
