Even if you aren't in to video games, you have probably at least heard of Call of Duty. The recent update for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is Ascendance, and it will be released on the PS4 after it has come to the Xbox platform. This leads Call of Duty fans wondering when the next installment of Black Ops III will arrive.
According to Gotta Be Mobile, the video game website Polygon reported that the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Ascendance DLC will be coming to the PS4 and the PS3 on April 30th. Those that have Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on the PC can also get it.
In case you are wondering why I haven't mentioned Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Ascendance for the Xbox One or the Xbox 360, it is because owners of these Microsoft consoles should already have it. That's right, Activision has an exclusive deal with Microsoft that allowed their consoles to receive Ascendance on March 31st. This deal extends to any other add-ons for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Deals like these are starting to become common in the video game console world, as Sony has a similar deal with Destiny.
Activision has stated that there intends to be four updates in the game's life-cycle. So far, there is no word on the release date for the other two upgrades.
Ascendance is the second major software update for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare since its launch last November. The update has four new maps that can be used in the game's multiplayer experience, as well as a new episode of the Zombie plotline started in the last update.
For those who are not familiar with Call of Duty, it is an immensely popular series of video games that has sold more than 100 million copies. It originally began as a first-person shooter series that took place during World War II, but it has since had games that take place in modern times with Modern Warfare as well as Black Ops. Black Ops III was just recently announced, and there will be a full trailer that will debut on April 26, 2015.
As for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, this game takes place in a near-future setting, where the world relies on the forces of a private army. As you might have guessed, Advanced Warfare opens the player to a world of science fiction weapons as well as exoskeletons for climbing buildings and robot shields for stopping bullets.
The Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Ascendance for the PS4, PS3, and PC will cost about $14.99, provided you have Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Those that have the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Season Pass will be able to get the Ascendance pack with it for free, and the Season Pass is available on the Xbox and PlayStation stores for $49.99. Those that haven't picked up Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare can still do that, for a price of about $59.99 for the PC, Sony PS3, Sony PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
