There is no point in ignoring the fact that in one year, in the same season, both DC and Marvel's Cinematic Universes are presenting audiences with superheroes fighting superheroes. DC's Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice has been met with mixed reviews, most of them going to the negative spectrum. If Marvel wants to show Warner Brothers/DC Comics how to do a Cinematic Universe right, then it is going to use Captain America Civil War for it. The reviews are in two months before the film's release date, and some new footage reveals even more.
According to news.com.au, Chris Evans (the actor that portrays Captain America) took to the stage at the MTV 2016 Movie Awards and announced a new clip from the film. Evans sounded very proud of the work he was in when he said:
"Every triumph victory, every epic battle has led to this. For eight years and 12 movies, Marvel Studios has built a sprawling cinematic universe without equal, and this summer that universe is gonna be rocked to its core. For the first time ever, this is exclusive world premiere footage from Captain America: Civil War."
There isn't much of it being shown except Captain America and his allies that included the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and others. Why they are taking out guards in this place has yet to be revealed, but earlier trailers have revealed that The Winter Soldier from the last Captain America film is involved.
For those that aren't too familiar with the source material, Civil War was a huge event comic in Marvel based on the idea that superheroes have to abide to certain laws. This lead to a schism in the Marvel universe with Captain America on one side and Iron Man on the other, and there is a similar situation of policing superheroes going on in this movie that will lead to the conflict of Marvel's biggest characters.
According to CinemaBlend, certain critics have already been given access to see the film. Unlike the first reactions from Batman V. Superman, the responses for the film have been very positive. Many of the comments saying that it was a lot better Avengers movie than Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as many pleased that Spider-Man was in the film a lot more than they expected.
All in all, it is a pretty gutsy movie for Marvel to make certain that Captain America: Civil War was screened for critics, and you had better believe that Marvel will be riding the success as the next Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy movies will be released.
