‘Captain America: Civil War’ Updates: Why Was Tom Holland Disappointed When He Wore His Spider-Man Costume for the First Time?

The whole world knows that Tom Holland is now the latest actor to play Spider-Man on the big screen. Although this is most likely a big deal especially for him, Holland said he was disappointed when he first tried on the Spidey suit for "Captain America: Civil War."

According to the actor, when he first arrived on set, the production did not have a suit that's tailored to his size. As a result, he had to wear the one for his stunt double.

The only problem here is that his stunt double is taller than him. Because of this, the suit ended up being too baggy when worn by Holland. This, of course, defeated the sleek appearance of Spider-Man and just made Holland look like a little kid wearing an oversized Halloween costume.

"Sadly, I have to say it was a little disappointing," he said during an interview at the U.K. premiere of "Civil War. "My stunt double at the time was a little taller than I am, and I had to wear his suit because they didn't have one for me!"

"So it was kind of baggy the first time I tried it on, and it wasn't as cool as I hoped," he added.

Thankfully, the production team were able to make a suit for Holland right before they started filming.

As for his role in Marvel's latest major film, Holland admitted that it was pretty daunting following the footsteps of Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield in portraying Spider-Man. But, as seen in "Civil War," Holland clearly made the character his own by playing the superhero like a kid.

"It was pretty daunting at first, I'm not gonna lie," he told HeyUGuys. "It was very difficult to not obviously copy what Andre and Tobey had done because what they did was so brilliant. I think our main difference is trying to make Peter feel like a kid and in the film you see a kid reacting to meeting the Avengers for the first time."

"I think that's one of these things people love about these films is seeing real life occurrences happen in these crazy films and that's exactly what happens to Peter in his house," he added.
