Cheap Thrills Artist Sia Splits With Husband Erik Lang

Cheap Thrills singer Sia and her filmmaker husband Erik Lang announced their split and decided to conclude their marriage of two years.

"After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple," the couple stated in a joint statement to People through their rep.  "We are, however, dedicated to remaining friends. There will be no further comment."

The couple stated no further details about the reason for their split and said that this will be the last statement they will disclose regarding the matter. Fans have send their support to Sia through various social media means, most of them asking her to stay strong, healthy, and happy.

The couple got engaged in June 2014 and were married at Sia's Palm Springs, California home in August 2014, according to Us Weekly. Sia remained secretive about their relationship, even confirming their marriage months after the wedding. The Chandelier artist hinted about the pressure of the public eye to a famous artist and how it is affecting her private relationship.

Sia stated that Lang didn't have the chance to visit her home in Oz because of the fans who are recogninzing her and following them all the time, according to Metro.

"It's kind of disappointing because we can't do anything,' she said. 'I'm kind of a bit famous. I didn't realise I'm so famous. It's crazy but I'm thinking I might rock a [disguise]. I've got some plans. We would really like to get out but also the rain is pretty crazy," she said in interview of the Australian radio show Nova 96.9.

Sia might also release a single regarding her relationship with Erik Lang. "It's not really my jam although I did write one right before we got together I like to say is about us. I'm trying to pitch that to Maroon 5 or Bruno Mars," Sia said in the Nova 96.9 radio interview.

"You'll hear it. It's called Step By Step. It's a good one," she stated.

The couple was last seen together at the Spotify pre-Grammy party in February.
