China Evangelical Seminary of Taiwan Names Peter K. Chow as New President

Dr. Peter K. Chow will serve as the incoming president for China Evangelical Seminary of Taiwan beginning August of 2011.

China Evangelical Seminary of Taiwan has announced earlier this month that Dr. Peter K. Chow will serve as their incoming president beginning August 1, 2011.

The decision came through a process including an extended period of interviews, prayers, and consents of the school’s board of directors. It was also decided that Dr. Cecil Wang will serve as the administrative vice president.

Chow received his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Westminister Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Philosophy from Temple University. From 1975-79, he has served as a full-time teacher at China Evangelical Seminary when it was first founded.

In 1995, Chow returned to teach at the school as a professor of systematic theology. Until 2005, he has served in various occupancy such as the director of studies, director of pastoral doctorate degree, director of development, acting president, and others.

In 2005, he quitted his job at CES and returned to Philadelphia to serve as the senior pastor of Trinity Christian Church of Greater Philadelphia. He was born in Shanghai, raised in Hong Kong. He and his wife have three children.

China Evangelical Seminary of Taiwan former president Rev. Paul Lai has stepped down from his six years incumbency as the president since last August.
