Chris Pratt has revealed his "favorite" possession is wooden tray bearing the image of Christ along with Philippians 4:13 - a Bible verse the actor said he "relies on for strength."
On Monday, the "Passengers" actor took to Instagram to share a photo of his most prized possession, which his brother made from reclaimed wood.
"So my brother, @cullypratt makes these awesome pocket dump trays. We all need a place to throw our wallets, keys, cell-phones, lighters, pistols or whatever else we keep in your pocket so you know exactly where it is the next day. Well he wanted to make me one and asked me what I wanted on it.
Pratt explained that at first, he said he was going to have him make one with an "American bald eagle smoking a cigar, holding a machine gun" and possibly nunchucks. However, he had a change of heart and asked for a tray engraved with the Bible verse, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
"But then I thought a lot about being homesick. I'd like having a touchstone that I could take with me as I travel on the road for work ... So I though (sic) about this great bible verse Philippians 4:13 which I've relied on for strength from time to time. And he knocks this thing out in like a day!! Reclaimed wood and a wood burner. All by hand ... He's a unique individual and my best friend."
While Hollywood may be notoriously difficult environment for Christians, Pratt has never been shy about his faith, and recently encouraged his 9.3 million Instagram followers to "be the instrument God uses to bless your community." In the latest issue of Vanity Fair, opened up about his dramatic conversion experience.
"I was sitting outside a grocery store ... And a guy named Henry came up and recognized something in me that needed to be saved," he recalled. "He said, 'Jesus told me to talk to you . . .' At that moment I was like, I think I have to go with this guy. He took me to church. Over the next few days I surprised my friends by declaring that I was going to change my life."
Today, Pratt is one of Hollywood's biggest stars - he was the highest grossing actor of 2014, making $1.2 billion between his lead roles in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Lego Movie."
Despite his tremendous success, the actor, who has a son with his wife of six years, Anna Faris, appears to have his priorities in line, putting his family before fame.
"I have my eyes on the prize," he said. "The big picture is my wife and my son and I living somewhere other than L.A., just being able to be a Boy Scout leader, drink beer on Saturday, go to church on Sunday, having fun. I could coach him in football. That's the goal, and I need to do as many big movies as I can while there's still time. Because you never know what's next."
