Jeremy Lin lists out top three goals for the offseason: get healthy, becoming a better all-around shooter, and becoming a better defender.
In an interview with CSN Houston, Rockets point guard Lin pointed out that one of his biggest motivation going into the offseason was how the playoff ended.
“It just doesn’t sit well with me,” said Lin, the first Chinese-American NBA player that started the Linsanity phenomenon last year. “I’ll definitely remember a lot more my subpar performance and my injury.”
In 2012, Lin was not able to play after helping the New York Knicks reach the postseason. In 2013, he played for two games during playoff against the Oklahoma Thunders, but he suffered a bruised right chest muscle in a collision with Thabo Sefolosha. Lin tried to play in Games Three and Six, but performed poorly.
"It was tough. It was tough. I’m glad I made it, but that feeling that you have of making it and playing in your first game goes away quick when it doesn’t pan out the way you want it to," Lin told CSN Houston.
While hoping to improve his health and game during the offseason, Lin expressed his expectation to spend more quality time around his loved ones.
“Aw man, it’s great,” said Lin, according to CSN Houston. “I’m going to be at home and I’m going to be able to see my family and my friends, just be where I’m comfortable at, and kind of camp out a little bit, and just be out there, you know, back at home where everything is the way it used to be, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
