“Duck Dynasty” Prays for the New Year, Releases Shotgun and Semiautomatic Product Line

By Lauren Leigh Noske

In a recent New Year's Eve interview with Fox News regarding the national controversy sparked by patriarch Phil Robertson's comments to GQ magazine, Willie and Korie Robertson said the Robertsons are ready to move on to making more comedic television shows and hope to continue to give God glory as a family in the new year. The Robertsons also plan to release a gun line in early 2014, engraved with the family business' Duck Commander logo and motto, "Faith. Family. Ducks."

"We're just glad to be back to work, and A&E and us are fine," Willie told Fox News anchors Tuesday when asked about their reaction to A&E's recent suspension and reinstatement of his father Phil - "We're looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows." Korie was also asked about the family's thoughts on the matter - "I'm just glad the family's all together. The best thing about this show is that we get to do it together as a family ... we're all happy, happy, happy," she said.

CNN reports that Mossberg & Sons will partner with Duck Commander to produce the new product line. The family plans to offer nine shotguns, a semiautomatic pistol, and a semiautomatic rifle; each comes with a signature American flag bandana similar to the one Willie wears. In the product advertisement, Phil declares that "Where there's design, there is a Designer. We were designed to kill ducks."

When asked what the family's hopes are for the new year, Korie said she prays that our nation will come together more - "[We] thank God for our blessings, and we're going to continue to do that. Hopefully we can spread that message, and I think that as a country - if we can come back to [our nation's Christian heritage] a little bit - maybe we'll have a great 2014."

Willie says he hopes to groom his facial hair more thoroughly in the year to come - "I'm going to take better care of my beard this year than last year ... more lotions and oils," he jokes.

Fox News reports that the Duck Commander gun line will be available at Cabela's and Academy Sports & Outdoors in early 2014.
