Looking at all of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s daughters who have reached their twenties, Jana Duggar remains the only one who has not made plans for marriage or even entered a publicized relationship. Nonetheless, the 26-year-old reality TV star has opened up about the reason behind avoiding courtship despite her other sisters getting married and starting their own families for the past years.
While such issue has been discussed by fans already, Jana has remained tight-lipped which eventually led to various speculations.
Nonetheless, the former ’19 Kids & Counting’ star revealed that she did go through courting before but decided against making it public unlike the relationships of her siblings Jessa, Jill, Jinger and Joy-Anna.
Despite turning twenty-seven in just a few weeks, Jana admitted that she feels no pressure in settling down and planning for marriage anytime soon.
Dubbed as the Cinderella Duggar as she is reportedly expected to help out with baby-sitting and the rest of the household chores, the elder daughter reportedly recalled how different types of men approached her but were turned down because they simply “haven’t been the right one.” Although she is a bit wistful upon seeing her sisters step into marriage and motherhood, Jana said she is willing to wait for the perfect one.
"There have been different guys come along and ask, but they haven’t been the right one,” Jana told TLC’s cameras earlier this year. “It’s just one of those things. I’m not just out to get married to the first one who comes along.”
Moreover, prior to Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo’s wedding, their parents Jim Bob and Michelle took the time to share an update about Jana’s daughter, taking to social media to let fans know about one of her favorite hobbies.
“Our Jana is so talented!” her parents wrote as they gushed over one her latest art pieces. “An old fence board, some painted sticks and just a little jute string!”
Jana’s project came as a part of their remodeling efforts for the Duggars’ guest house. After learning about Jill, her husband Derick Dillard and baby son Israel’s return from Central America, the eldest Duggar daughter and the rest of the family threw in their best attempts to re-do the big guest home.
While it is unclear whether Jana will take her interior design expertise one step higher, she already has experience in doing business. Last September, she purchased a tattoo parlor in Springdale, Arkansas near her parents’ house but has not yet confirmed about her plans for the space. The last time Jana mentioned her latest business purchase, she admitted that she was still busy helping out and preparing for Jinger’s wedding ceremony.
For more of Jana, her sisters and the rest of the Duggar family, fans can look forward to the ‘Counting On’ season 3 premiere which is expected to be released in early 2017.
