Yes, there are a lot of sports games that have a new version every year, and one of them is FIFAFIFA 16 made some history last year upon its release date as it featured female athletes in the game and on the cover, not to mention Lionel Messi's "no touch dribbling".  With something as historical as that, what can possibly be in story for FIFA 17.  Here is everything that is known about FIFA 17 with its news, gameplay, and release date, and there is also news about FIFA 16 with its available as well.

According to iDigitalTimes, some "big changes" are coming to EA's FIFA franchise.  CEO Andrew Wilson has said during last week's Q4 earnings call that Wilson promises that FIFA 17 will take "a major leap forward in personalization, immersion, and competition".  Wilson suggested that similar steps will be taken in EA's other sporting franchises of Madden NFL 17 and NHL 17

So what does that mean in terms of new additions to FIFA 17?  It possibly refers to new leagues, a more extensive career mode and an expanding training program, not to mention some additions to the women's national teams.

There are several sites that have lists of what fans want to see in the game, and it might be possible for EA to implement such changes, as the game is a few months from its official release date.  One of them appears on Digital Spy, which includes suggestions as focusing more on gameplay rather than graphics.  There are also suggestions that the developers of FIFA 17 take a page from Madden NFL's playbook, especially when it comes to the Team Builder feature.

In spite of the suggestion of more emphasis on gameplay rather than graphics, fans are always demanding more realism in the game.  The training scenes could use improvements so they don't look like arcade loading screens.  Also, it is time that football players' tattoos got involved with the game, as ink is practically a part of the uniforms on today's field.

It is important to note that there is a lot of pressure on EA to create a decent FIFA 17 game, as players voted FIFA 16 a score of 4.4 on Metacritic, making it one of the worst received FIFA games ever.  FIFA 16 was well-received by critics, though, so perhaps it is those who haven't been playing the series since 1993 didn't like it.  Yes, this sports simulation has been around for that long.

As for updates for FIFA 16 the official EA Sports FIFA blog are addressing some of the fans' complaints.  The sixth update just became available on all platforms, which includes the ability to message players about issues and update, matchmaking improvements to help players find each other quicker, and matchmaking rematch issues in the FUT Online Draft.

FIFA 17 should be released in mid to late September, but no more release date than that.
