Square Enix has the distinct advantage of owning two video game franchises that are huge amongst players: Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy. However, even with the recent Tokyo Game show, the company didn't really highlight much of the highly anticipated new installments: Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Heart 3.  They were able to bring some new trailers, and here is what is known so far about Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3.

According to Metro, Final Fantasy XV was given a new trailer known as Dawn 2.0 that shows random images of a woman who is believed to be Lunafreya, and it looks like she is about to be attacked (or worse) by a figure in dark armor. There is also a shot of a man standing by a car holding a baby. There really isn't any other explanation but some text that says: "Fifteen years ago...their journey began".

This is Dawn 2.0, and the original trailer was released at Gamescom. According to Digital Trends, the trailer also begins "fifteen years ago", and shows a young Noctis being held by his father, King Regis, as the camera slowly pans to reveal three massive figures in the distance. Apparently, both Noctis and Lunafreya are going to be very important to the game and Director Hajiime has been quoted as saying that the man and the woman will be romatically involved, but it "won't be a 'typical love story'".

The long-awaited Final Fantasy XV should be out sometime in 2016, and more information about the game will appear sometime in March at a special event. As for Kingdom Hearts III, it is not likely to be out until at least 2017.

According to the Latino Post, the game is less a delay and more of Square Enix not giving players an official release date. A new trailer does give at least some hint of it, but it is quite brief. However, to tide Kingdom Hearts fans over, there is a trailer for Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.

According to Polygon, Square Enix announced this bundle of titles that includes a remake of the Nintendo 3DS game Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover, and Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep-A Fragmentary Passage. This is really more of a mash-up of several games past with possible new footage that should tie-in to Kingdom Hearts 3 when it gets released.

For those who aren't familiar with Kingdom Hearts, it is about a 14-year-old boy named Sora who travels across different worlds looking for his friends. The game features both characters from Disney like Mickey, Donald, and Goofy and also features some characters from Final Fantasy as well.

So Final Fantasy XV will probably be out next year, with Kingdom Hearts 3 ready by 2017. It should make an interesting two years for Square Enix.
