One of the biggest gaming franchises of all time is Final Fantasy, and over the decades that it has been out, it has a rich mythology and deep characters, it is a game-changer when it came to video games on the console and the computer.  It should be noted that there is a Remake in the process and a Port, and this is what is known about the Release Dates for Final Fantasy VII

At the PlayStation Experience one year ago, there was a big Final Fantasy announcement.  Even though it wasn't the long-awaited Final Fantasy 15, which is under development, fans were still excited about Final Fantasy VII.  Most were upset that the game was not a remake, but a port of the old version for the original PlayStation.  At E3 2015 last summer, there was an announcement of a new Final Fantasy VII, and this was a remake.

Since most of the Final Fantasy fans have already played the game upon its initial release to PlayStation back in 1997, new fans can play the Port and see what the original looked like, and also purchase the Remake.  It is an odd way for Square Enix to make money off of one of their biggest franchises.  The company is already working hard on other offerings such as Kingdom Hearts 3 as well as another new iteration of Final Fantasy 15

According to Gematsu, trophies for the PlayStation 4 version of the Final Fantasy VII PC port were have already been announced, and there are 32 of them in four categories:  5 Gold, 13 Silver, 13 Silver, and 1 Platinum, which is collecting all the trophies.

According to Tech Times, there hasn't been a formal release date of the Port or Remake for Final Fantasy VII, although many now debunked rumors stated the Port would be in October.  All signs point to "soon" for the Port, as Gamerant reports the Port release will be winter of this year, and a port is also under development for iOS Devices.  Considering that Final Fantasy I-VI have been released for mobile phones and tablets, it just makes sense to get VII on there as well.

With the Port version showing the "before", the Remake of Final Fantasy VII will be the "after".  News for the Final Fantasy VII remake has slowed down, and about all that is known is that the remake will be about changing some of the original game mechanics and feature some improved visuals, which it desperately needs.  There are also reports that the game's story will be altered slightly, which might arouse some criticism for those who remember playing the game nearly two decades ago.

At this point in time, it would be good to leave a comment saying what additions that you want to see to the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
