How Long Until LA Rams' Patience Run Out Before Putting QB Jared Goff on Trading Block?

As the Los Angeles Rams head into Week 4, their No. 1 draft Jared Goff is not yet ready to take on the starting quarterback post. This could lead the team to seek trade options for him.

Drafting Goff turned out to be a disappointment for the Los Angeles franchise after the team soon saw how he struggled during practice sessions. As a result, the Rams were forced to push back Goff as the third-string quarterback.

Before the 2016 NFL season officially kicked off, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher admitted that Goff has been struggling at practices and is clearly not yet ready to play as the team's main passer. Back then, he said that he would pick Sean Mannion over Goff as the team's starting QB.

"You know, I think it's going to take a little bit more time," he said. "That's not to say he can't be a two or a start, but if we were starting right now, I'd probably have Sean as the two. Because it's all about being patient with him. He's not frustrated or anything. He took some hits. He got hit pretty hard last week, and Sunday was a tough day for him, which you guys didn't see. But he did everything he needed to."

Due to his struggles, some sources even labeled him as a draft bust for not getting the starting spot. Although Fisher believes that Goff will get there eventually, it seems time is running out for the athlete.

If he doesn't show any massive improvement over the next few weeks, the Rams would decide on trading him for a more qualified and experience quarterback, even for just the backup spot.

That way, the team will have a player who's ready and capable of leading the team just in case starting QB Case Keenum gets injured on the field.

Apparently, the next few weeks will serve as a crucial test for Goff's abilities. Recently, the Rams released their updated inactive list, which includes Mannion.

Now that Mannion is the team's third-string QB, that means Goff has been named as the backup to Keenum. At this spot, Fisher and the rest of the Los Angeles organization are hoping that Goff will be able to hone his skills.
