Latest on Injustice 2 roster Game Rant

Good news for DC comics fans out there. Ed Boon of NetherRealm Studios revealed two new heroes from the much-awaited Injustice 2 at a San Diego Comic-Con panel. Interestingly, rumors around the internet claim Darkseid and Rorschach will be included in the game's roster.

Here's the latest round up of update about Injustice 2 gameplay, new characters and rumors on the web.

Boon announced Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle are Injustice 2's new characters. In a brief gameplay demo, the heroes display their unique power and abilities.

The trailer shows the toughness of Wonder Woman's gauntlets, which came from the remains of Zeus's legendary shield. Blue Beetle, on the other hand, showcases the power of his scarab.

According to DC's official website, Wonder Woman has highly developed fighting skills. Her Amazonian blood gives her enhanced vision, speed, strength and incredible regeneration ability. She is also armed with sword, lasso, axe and bow.

As for Blue Beetle's powers, his hands can transform to energy cannons which he uses to shoot blue energy blasts. Also his armor can generate various deadly weapons, such as sonic cannons and blades.

Aside from Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle, the other confirmed heroes in Injustice 2 are Superman, Batman, Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd and Aquaman. For the other characters, Polygon says Captain Cold, Doctor Fate, Harley Quinn, Rorschach and Darkseid might appear in Injustice 2

Many gamers want to see Dark Seid in the game. His Omega Beam is the most powerful attack in the entirety of the DC Universe, so it is interesting to see how developers would recreate that in Injustice 2.

In NetherRealm's San Diego Comic-Con panel, Boon said he will make more announcements about the game's new characters. He added he will include someone from Mortal Kombat, though he noted it would not be Scorpion. Boon assured fans that Injustice 2 will have a bigger roster of characters than the first game, including a lot of improvements and unexpected stuff.

Furthermore, he confirmed Injustice comics writer Tom Taylor would return to franchise to write the new game. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Taylor promised he will give an in-depth backstory to what has happened to the former Justice League.

Injustice 2 will be released to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017. Stay tuned with Gospel Herald for more update.
