James Rebhorn's Wife Rebecca Linn said 'Homeland' Actor Died of Skin Cancer, He was 65

James Rebhorn, the veteran actor who has appeared in over 100 productions over the five decades of his career, passed away on Friday at the age of 65. He most recently played the father of Carrie Mathison in the television show "Homeland."

Dianne Busch, Rebhorn's agent, confirmed the actor's death to The Hollywood Reporter and other outlets.

TMZ reports that Rebhorn died after a long battle of skin cancer. His wife Rebecca Linn told TMZ Rebhorn was diagnosed with melanoma in 1992 and had been getting treatments since.

James Rebhorn was born on September 1, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as James Robert Rebhorn. He was known for "Scent of a Woman"(1992), "The Game" (1997) and "Independence Day" (1996) and "Meet the Parents".

Rebhorn also made an appearance in the "Seinfeld" finale in 1998, as the district attorney who sent Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer to jail. He has also guested on "The Good Wife" and "30 Rock."

In addition, Rebhorn had several credits to his name over the course of his career, with multiple recurring roles on "Homeland," "White Collar," "Law & Order" and "Boston Legal," among others.

He and his wife, Rebecca Linn, have two daughters, Emma Rebecca Rebhorn Feldman and Hannah Rebhorn.
