Jamie H. Taylor IV, son of the late Dr. James Hudson Taylor III, represented his family in giving thanks at the memorial service held for his father in Hong Kong. When he stepped on the stage, his face was filled with grief, but his speech was filled with faith and gratitude.

He said, “Today, many have spoke of the parts of my father where they respect him for, but I think my father would hope that today’s focus wouldn’t be on him, but on Jesus Christ, who saved him, called him, and used him, and that all the praise and glory be given to God.”

As for the second thing that my father would say today is that what our Taylor family has received from the Chinese churches and the Chinese has far surpassed what we have given, said Jamie. My father has once used similar wordings to remind me and my family, so on behalf of my family I want to dedicate my genuine heart of thanks to the Chinese churches, believers, and brothers and sisters.

On behalf of his father, Jamie thanked some organization/individuals, including the memorial service organization small group, MSI staffs, OMF HK and Singapore office staffs, Hong Kong Bible Church’s brothers and sisters, expressing his deepest gratitude.
