More and more Jews that have been scattered all over the world are going home to Israel, indicating that an end-time Bible prophecy is about to be fulfilled.
In April, Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics released the results of a new census just before the country celebrated its independence day. The census revealed that Israel's Jewish population today has risen to about 6.5 million, the Times of Israel reported.
Overall, the country's population is at 8,680,000 and increasing at about 2 percent annually. It is estimated that by 2048, Israel's global population would have grown to 15.2 million.
The present figures show that as the Jewish population increases in Israel, it also decreases in other parts of the world.
In 1948, Israel only had a population of about 806,000, a very small percentage (6 percent) of the global Jewish population, which was estimated at 11.5 million. That means millions of Jews were scattered around the world, while less than a million were found in Israel.
Today, the global Jewish population stands at 14.4 million, with 43 percent of these are living are Israel, and their number keeps increasing.
In Genesis 15:5, God told Abraham that his offspring will be as numerous as the stars in the night sky. With modern science estimating the number of nighttime stars that the naked eye can see at about 9,000, this promise has been fulfilled long ago.
However, the verse also talks about a growing number of descendants for Abraham.
For many Jews, the population statistics are more than just figures; these reveal a "major turning point" toward the third inheritance of Israel, or the prophesied return of the Jews to Israel, according to Breaking Israel News.
Based on Jewish tradition, the third inheritance signals the building of the Third Temple and the restoration of the kingdom of David.
"In July, the Sanhedrin ruled that the conditions exist to establish that Israel is now in the prophesied third inheritance of the land, the first being by Joshua, the second after the Babylonian exile," Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the re-established, self-declared Sanhedrin, told Breaking Israel News.
"For this reason, the Sanhedrin initiated the Biblically mandated commandment of counting the Jubilee. But when the situation changes and most of the Jews are in Israel, as the statistics seem to indicate will happen shortly, many more aspects of Judaism will change," he explained.
One of the expected major changes is the redistribution of the land and "the return of Jewish tribal identity."
"When most of the Jews live in Israel we will be required to divide the land into tribal territories," he said.
Mark Blitz, author of 'God's Day Timer,' pointed out the prophetic significance of the ingathering of the Jews in Israel.
"It's all about sanctifying the Name of God," he told WND. "God's name is sanctified by the regathering of Jews back to the Land. God made a promise to give them the land of Israel so if they are not there, to the nations He becomes either a liar or an impotent God who never was able to fulfill His promise."
Blitz, who discovered the message of the blood moons, believes the generation that witnesses Jerusalem being built up will be the generation that witnesses the return of Christ. He advised believers to take notice of what the prophets of Israel are saying.
