If there is one thing that we have learned about Jurassic World, it is this: people love dinosaurs and large monsters. Summer is not summer at all if there is no monster hit, and by monsters, we mean it literally. Huge creatures that rock the earth with each step that it takes, and seeing what a huge success Jurassic World was in 2015, it is a no-brainer to hear that Jurassic World 2 is set for a debut in the US on June 22, 2018. Below are some of the latest updates and developments concerning Jurassic World 2. The movie remains untitled on IMDB.
Also known as Jurassic Park 5, the 2015 movie managed to resurrect the once dead dinosaurs onto the big screen, showing just how humans never learn. No matter how large or secure you think a particular theme park is, there is always room for accidents. Especially when you have a bunch of crazy scientists who have gone nuts over mixing a cocktail of DNA that takes the best predatory aspects of different species. Well, what do we know about Jurassic World 2 so far?
Filming for Jurassic World 2 has officially wrapped up over in the UK, and the entire production crew is now going to make a move to Hawaii. In terms of the story, there is very little known about Jurassic World 2 just yet. In fact, nothing is known officially, but it would be not out of place to figure out that there are going to be dinosaurs in there. However, it is starting to get tired that after 5 dinosaur theme parks that have a zero record of safety, just how many more corporations are going to buy the idea, and will there even be visitors who are interested?
Perhaps the story will explore on returning to the same island where the T-Rex asserts its natural rule over the artificial fiefdom known as Isla Nublar, but who are we to say that the Mosasaurus in the reboot did not manage escape and wreak havoc across the world’s seas? Now that would certainly make for a comedic action movie. Early speculation has pointed to a major catastrophe that will affect Isla Nublar. A volcanic explosion would make plenty of sense, and with the lives of the indigenous creatures at stake, the roaming dinosaurs will have to be relocated. Somewhere where there are plenty of humans, of course. And we all simply know that this is a recipe for disaster, where it is a matter of when and how.
Jeff Goldblum is set to reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm, where Chris Pratt will ditch his Starlord persona for the rugged outfit of a hunky dinosaur whisperer, and Bryce Dallas Howard will also return as Claire. I am surprised she continues to keep her job after all that has happened. How about Malcolm's involvement in Jurassic World 2? That remains an unknown factor, but fans will no doubt wish to see a more prominent role play out.
Juan Antonio Bayona's Jurassic World 2 will definitely be a movie that many will look forward to. Dr. Henry Wu’s presence in Jurassic World 2 will also mean that he has been let off the hook when it came to modifying the DNA in the dinosaurs, but is he really that indispensable? Is not his research work property of the company, and even when he is not around, others are more than willing to jump into his role? Only time will be able to tell.
Jurassic World 2 will wow cinema goers in the US on June 22, 2018. In the meantime, you can always check out the Blu-ray version of Jurassic World to relive the Indominus Rex's rampage on Isla Nublar before it drowned unceremoniously.
