It looks like 2016 will be a great year for Square Enix as they own the rights to not one, but two, giant video game franchises. I am talking about Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV, two games that have a huge following, and their fans will welcome the new offerings, set to arrive sometime in 2016. Here is the latest news about Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV, release date and news. Just to let you know, neither game has had an official release date as yet, but it is clear that Square Enix is working its way toward them.
Final Fantasy XV
According to Vine Report, Final Fantasy XV does not have an official release date as yet, but the game director Hajime Tabata has an idea of when it will come out. Essentially, fans of the game are waiting for a release date of a release date as there is going to be a special event sometime in March 2016 that will more than likely announce the actual release date of the long-awaited Final Fantasy XV. The good news is that the release date won't be 2017, but before that.
So far, there hasn't really been any news of anything newly added to Final Fantasy XV. There was a demo released a while ago known as Episode Duscae, and there have been some trailers that show what looks to be cutscenes. There was a trailer revealed at the Tokyo Game Show that showed some new gameplay including Chocobos and a fishing mini game. Chocobos are some yellow giant bird creatures that can be used as transportation in the game, along with a car that requires fuel.
It is believed that Final Fantasy XV will be a very open-world exploration game, and it will look quite good with its motion capture technology. Of course, it will all come down to what the fans, who have grown up on the well-developed mythology of this game series, think about this game.
Kingdom Hearts 3
Unlike Final Fantasy XV, it doesn't look like fans of this long-awaited game will have to wait long for the release date of the release date. According to iDigital Times, it looks like an interview with director Tetsuya Nomura reveals that the latest news of the game will be released at D23, a November 3rd Disney event. Here is where the long-awaited release date of the long-awaited game could be unveiled.
Perhaps "could" is the active word, as perhaps the announcement could be more game details to wet the Kingdom Hearts fans' appetites. For example, at the D23 Expo in California back in August, Disney announced that the cast of Big Hero 6 would show up in the game. Kingdom Hearts has a licensed tie-in with Disney characters, as well as the Final Fantasy characters. As you can see in the image, the world of Tangled is also going to be...tangled with the Kingdom Hearts storyline.
