Logos Evangelical Seminary President Challenges Believers to Give All to God

By Luke Leung

Logos Evangelical Seminary concluded their annual thanksgiving and testimony banquet titled “Cross-Generational Altar of Life – Facing New Generational Challenges” with over 700 participants at a hotel in Los Angeles on Oct. 12.

The event began with the Formosan Church Choir dedicating a beautiful praise song, and the LES academic dean Rev. Jeffrey Lu began sharing the history and the future of LES, allowing the participants to understand clearly about the seminary’s vision, structure, and future development plans and strategies.

Moreover, LES President Rev. Felix Liu preached that God blessed Noah after the flood, because he built an altar to give an sacrificial offering expressing his gratitude. When God smelled the fragrance of the offering, he was pleased and blessed Noah. (Genesis 8:20-21)

In the era of the New Testament, Apostle Paul encouraged the Christians to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1)

Pointing this out, Liu challenged the participants’ faith to become the lamb of sacrifice, putting their lives as a living sacrifice, devoting everything for the Lord’s use.

That night, the students currently studying at LES and the seminary’s graduates shared their reflections in studying theology and their inspiration and experiences in learning and serving. Their exciting sharing left deep impressions on the participating guests.

While the event was coming to an end, the worship team led the crowd to sing “HiNeNi”, which ignited the heart for service in the participants. Then, the Evangelical Formosan Church secretary general Rev. Issac Chen gave an offering prayer and the crowd sang “Fire of Revival”. Then, Rev. Timothy Lin who is 97-year-old delivered the prayer of blessing, marking the successful closure of the event.
