The Netflix series "Longmire" has added a new member to its cast. According to reports, the actor will be playing a recurring role in the fifth season of the series.
As confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, actor Dylan Walsh has signed on to appear in "Longmire." Walsh is probably most recognized in television drama series "Nip/Tuck," where he played the protagonist Dr. Sean McNamara.
He also appeared in other television programs including "NCIS: New Orleans," "Castle," "Drop Dead Diva" and "Law and Order: Criminal Intent." His upcoming stint in "Longmire" will reunite him with Greer Shephard, who also served as an executive producer on "Nip/Tuck."
As for his character, Deadline noted that Walsh will play a character named Shane Muldoon, who will be introduced as the criminal boss of the yet-to-be-cast Eddie Heffernan. According to the news site, Muldoon will not be portrayed as a scary-looking crime boss. Instead, he will appear very calm and intelligent but with an ominous appeal.
Walsh is the latest addition to the cast of "Longmire." Last month, it was reported that Sterling Beaumon will also appear in the show as a recurring character. The young actor, who is known for his work in various films such as "Crawlspace," "The Pretty One" and "Senior Partner" will be playing an obnoxious student from a preparatory school. According to reports, his character will claim to be the son of Dr. Donna Monaghan.
Although not really a new addition to the show, another personality that might rejoin the cast in the upcoming season of "Longmire" is Louis Herthum. Last month, the actor confirmed via Twitter update that his character on the show, Omar, is still alive. This could mean that he might make a comeback on the show during its fifth season.
The upcoming season of "Longmire" has now entered production but it is not yet clear when it will be released by Netflix. Originally, it was presumed that it will premiere in September of this year since season 4 came out during the same period last year. But, since rumors suggest that the next installment will have more episodes, this could mean that season 5 might come out at a later date.
