Fans of the Netflix series "Longmire" have been patiently waiting for the premiere of its fifth season. But, according to a source, the next installment of the crime drama will feature a new storyline that's new to the nature of the show.

Over at TV Line, the site answered various questions about different television programs such as "Arrow," "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Flash." But aside from these shows, one of the questions centered on "Longmire."

The question, however, only asked if the show will be renewed by Netflix. Although the site confirmed that the series' fifth season has been given the green light a couple of months ago, it added a new tidbit regarding the casting details of "Longmire."

According to the site, the upcoming season of "Longmire" will feature characters who will belong to an Irish crime family. The site then added that series protagonist Walt Longmire will focus on this family while investigating a murder case that's also related to drugs.

For fans of the series, the inclusion of an organized crime group on "'Longmire" may seem a bit odd since this theme has never been fully explored in previous seasons and that the show has mainly focused on crimes that commonly occur in rural areas. Furthermore, since the series takes place in Wyoming, an Irish crime family seems to be out of place.

Of course, producers and writers of the show will probably not include something that will not work well in the program. This means that if "Longmire" really does proceed with including an Irish crime family in the fifth season, then viewers can expect that it will be integrated properly into the storyline.

As for other details about the show, Louis Herthum recently tweeted that his character Omar is still alive. For those who have been fans of the show since its debut episode, they are well aware that Omar is a hunting and firearms expert who often helps Longmire in investigating various cases.

Unfortunately, he was only with the show for its first three seasons. But, based on Herthum's tweet, it seems fans can expect to see him once again in season 5.
