Episodes for the fifth season of the Netflix series "Longmire" are currently in production and new updates about the show have started pouring in. One of those is the possible tandem of two fan-favorites.

According to Master Herald, Lou Diamond Philips said that his character will team up with that of Zahn McClarnon. In the show, Philips plays Henry Standing Bear, a Cheyenne who oftentimes assists series protagonist Walt Longmire in his cases.

Similarly, McClarnon also plays a Cheyenne through Mathias, the chief of the reservation's tribal police.

As noted by the news site, these two character will work closely together in the upcoming season in solving a number of cases. This will certainly be an interesting addition to the dynamic of "Longmire" since despite their characters' backgrounds, these two follow slightly different paths.

In the last season, Henry sort of tries to become the replacement of Hector, a Cheyenne character who is also a mercenary who helps victims of injustice. Embodying Hector, Henry helps out a woman raped by local oil workers through his own version of mercenary justice during the last episodes of season 4.

He also helped Walt by shooting Walker in the finale. However, for his actions, he was taken into custody by Mathias.

Although it is not yet clear how their relationship will play out in the fifth season, the upcoming installment will probably first focus on the events after Henry's arrest. From there, Mathias and Henry could realize that they both believe in the same type of justice. If this happens, then the pair could act as the new mercenaries of the show. Or, another possibility is that Henry could end up working with Mathias as a tribal law enforcer.

But then again, these are just rumors and there is currently no way of telling how these two will pair up in season 5.

As for the show, the series creators have not yet announced when it will premiere. Originally, it was believed that the fifth season will come out in September, the same month when season 4 premiered last year.

But, since it is rumored that the upcoming installment will have more episodes than the fourth season, filming it might take a bit longer, which means it could take a while before Netflix releases it.
