As the year draws to a close, news on Apple's next MacBook Pro and MacBook Air release dates remains scarce. The only report with some semblance of commitment coming from the Economic Daily News, which suggests that a new, thinner MacBook Air will be unveiled at the California-based company's WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) set for June 2016. But of course, the report just alluded to the reveal, which could mean that the new Apple laptops could come out on the market in the third quarter of 2016.

Meanwhile, The Christian Post reports that the release date for the MacBook Pro 2016 has been pushed back, citing the release of the iPad Pro as the reason for the delay. Similarly, the report notes that analysts are wont to think that Apple is looking to provide a substantial gap between the release dates of the MacBook Pro and the iPad Pro to avoid the two products competing among themselves. In the same vein, the same report suggests that the MacBook Air 2016 release could be pushed back as well.

On the contrary, The International Business Times reports that basing from a couple of factors: the MacBook with Retina display's release last March, along with the fact that older models are now available at discounted rates, Apple appears to be set to hold a launch event in March 2016 for the new MacBook Air.

Then again, the same report carries on with other rumors that suggest that the prospective March 2016 launch event will be for the successor model of the first gen Apple Watch, possibly along with iPhone 6C.

Apple has always kept mum on product releases until the very last weeks before they are unveiled, so with the swirling of rumors that suggest a variety of release dates and developments, Apple fanboys should not expect the new laptops to release anytime soon.
